Identify books that belong in your collection
A personalised library book stamp helps distinguish your books from those borrowed from someone else. The starting impression reads From the library of, followed by your chosen name and a return reminder. It suits a personal collection, a shared reading shelf or a teacher's classroom library where the same ownership wording is used repeatedly. It is an ink impression, not an embosser, adhesive bookplate, barcode or library-management system.
Make the message your own
Replace YOUR NAME with your name or collection name before ordering. You can change the first line to This book belongs to or edit the last line to suit your lending arrangement. Keep the ownership name prominent and the reminder short. Plain text is the default. For an illustrated bookplate-style impression, choose an optional Botanical book, Moonlit book, Reading kitten or Little book owl pattern in the live editor, at no extra charge. The kitten and owl are playful choices for children’s own books or a classroom collection. These original single-colour line-art patterns frame the centred wording; keep the name and return reminder short enough to remain clear. Your chosen pattern is saved with the stamp artwork for the proof. No third-party character or logo is included.
A compact impression for an available blank area
The impression measures 50 mm wide by 25 mm high; those measurements describe the printed area rather than the outer casing. Measure the space on an endpaper, title-page margin or other suitable blank area before choosing where to stamp. Avoid covering an author's signature, publication information or existing ownership marks. If your collection name wraps awkwardly, shorten the wording or compare a larger custom stamp. Check the physical dimensions rather than judging size from the enlarged screen preview.
Protect the book as well as the wording
Ink cannot be assumed removable from paper. Test a spare sheet of similar stock before marking a book, and check for spreading or show-through. Very thin, glossy, coated, valuable or archival paper may be unsuitable. This product does not carry an archival-safety, conservation or no-bleed claim. For a valuable edition, choose a reversible identification method or seek specialist advice rather than stamping it. Do not mark borrowed books or books you are not authorised to alter.
Questions about this design
Can it say Ex Libris?
Yes. Replace the opening line with Ex Libris and review how the remaining name and message fit. The design remains a rectangular ink impression.
Is it suitable for a school library?
You can use a school or classroom collection name with permission. It identifies ownership but does not replace accession numbers, lending records or your school's required labels.
Customise, check and approve
Edit the text in the live preview and choose Black, Blue or Red. The current price comes from the matching physical stamp size. Check line breaks, spelling and the final dimensions, then review the final proof before production. The checkout acknowledgement does not itself approve the final proof. Compare the stamp size guide, see the proof approval process or start with the matching blank custom stamp.
For a classroom collection or teacher gift, compare the teacher and library stamp guide. If you need blank writing fields for marking rather than book ownership, see the teacher feedback record stamp.
